Meet The Instructors
Mr. Edmiston started Taekwon-Do in February 1995. Now, with over 25 years teaching and training in Taekwon-Do (TKD), he’s had many great achievements. As a competitor, he has medalled in invitational tournaments as well as being a Provincial, National, and International Champion.
After retiring from competition in 2002, Mr. Edmiston opened a new school in Woodstock, Ontario (which is known as the “Friendly City”). Since opening day, his main goal has been to provide a safe, clean, and fun environment for kids and adults to learn TKD. Along the way he has produced over forty 1st and 2nd Degree Black Belts, as well as hundreds of excellent coloured belts.
Mr. Edmiston continues to attend International Instructor Courses and trains under Grand Masters, Masters and World Champions on a regular basis to give his students the best possible training.

Ms. Samara McFerran I Degree
(certificate number C-1-7461)
Ms. McFerran started Taekwon-Do in March, 2015. At first, she was quiet and reserved. Taekwon-Do helped her build her confidence and learn to speak up for herself and others. Now, she is not so quiet and a little more outspoken.
Ms. McFerran loves teaching the younger kids and watching them grow… starting off from a little plant and becoming a towering tree. She is looking forward to continuing her training as an Instructor, and further developing her Taekwon-Do skills, while helping and teaching others along the way.
Mr. Corwin Butyn I Degree
(certificate number C-1-6655)
Mr. Butyn started Taekwon-Do in 2010, achieving his first Black Belt in the fall of 2015. Since then, he’s taken some time off from training to attend college, taking the Child and Youth Care Program at Fanshawe. His favorite part of Taekwon-Do is self defense and the real-life applications of the techniques he learns and teaches in class. Mr. Butyn incorporates what he has learned at college into his teaching style to meet each person where they are at. He enjoys teaching in the kids’ classes and watching new students learn and progress, as well as challenging older students and adults to push themselves.
He is looking forward to returning to Taekwon-Do to assist in teaching and continue his training to prepare for his second-degree test!
